The primary scientific goal of the HERMES (High Energy Rapid Modular Ensemble of Satellites) project is to develop a cheap and scalable network of nanosatellites able to timely detect, localise and investigate Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) and other high-energy transient, such as optical counterparts of gravitational waves events.
